Kerry Hedden asked:

If you are like many consumers you have really done a number on your credit rating. You don’t even qualify for a bad credit rating, in fact people probably laugh when you want to obtain credit. Whether your credit is destroyed because of no fault of your own like a family illness or if you got in over your head and could no longer pay your bills, you can restore your credit rating by using credit cards to do it.

There are several things that you should know about using credit cards to fix your horrible credit. Read these tips carefully and follow them closely, the last thing that you need to do is make your credit problems even worse. You should also know that you may have destroyed your credit quickly but there is no quick fix to fixing horrible credit, if any one promises to do so RUN and save your money.

The first thing that you should know is many consumers make a huge mistake by just doing nothing with their credit report. They begin paying cash for everything and ignore it completely, waiting for seven years to pass so that things will automatically fall off. Well what happens after seven years when you have a clean report but no credit history?

Once your report is clean and you try to reestablish new credit any lender is going to question why there is no credit history and the likelihood of you receiving credit is going to be slim. So begin right away establishing good credit by using credit cards to fix your horrible credit.

First get one to three secured credit cards. Start with one card for $250 then as you save more money get another card with a higher credit limit. The key to doing this effectively is finding a secured credit card company that reports to all three credit bureaus. This way when you are using your credit cards and paying on time you are establishing a great credit history.

Many of the secured credit card companies will also increase your credit limits without requiring an additional deposit as you continuously make your payments on time. Once you have proven yourself for two or three years many of them will upgrade you to one of their unsecured credit cards and refund your initial deposit with interest.

What do you accomplish by doing this? Once all your old credit history is gone you will be left with a great credit history that has been established over several years. Then when you are going to apply for a home loan or financing for a car you will no longer be considered a high credit risk and you will reap the benefits of having excellent credit.

Remember when you are using credit cards to repair your horrible credit that you do not do anything to further damage your credit history. Start immediately to clean up your credit report, and establish a new credit history using secured credit cards to do it.

Sharon

Shayne Sherman asked:

Charge offs are bad debts that your creditor has disposed of. They will appear on your credit report with the words “Charge Off” written at the beginning of the file. The amount of the debt may be zero even though you know that you still owe a balance or there may be a dollar amount attached. If you have charge offs on your credit file, you should know that they can be tricky to deal with. Since it is almost impossible to have a charge off removed, you should focus on lessening the impact that your charge off account has on your credit score.

If your charge off has a dollar amount attached to it, the first thing you need to do to improve your credit score is to get it down to a zero balance. This does not mean that you have to pay the full amount listed in your credit report. In many cases, the creditor will settle your account for pennies on the dollar owed. Offer to pay anywhere from 35 to 50 percent of the balance owed in exchange for your reported balance being brought down to zero. Your charge off will not be removed. However, a charge off account with a zero balance only does as much damage to your credit as a charge off account that has been paid in full. So, never pay 100% of your debt on a charge off.

You should also take into account the amount of time that the charge off has been on your credit file. Entries on your credit file that are more than four years old do not affect your credit score as much as more recent entries. If you wish to pay off a charge off account that is more than four years old, pay as little as you possibly can to settle it. In most states, creditors cannot sue you for delinquencies that are older than four years. So, their hands are tied. They should be more than willing to offer you a sweet settlement.

Keep in mind that you can damage your credit score by paying off an old charge off account. As mentioned before, new entries carry more weight than old entries. If you make a payment or set up new payment arrangements on a new account, the date of the account is updated to reflect the new contract. This means that you could lose credit score points because the account will appear as if it is a new account. The file will also remain on your credit file for seven years from the updated date. So, weigh your options carefully before you decide to pay off an old account.

Leslie

Well keep reading below as this article will try to answer that question for you.

What Is This System All About

To start with this self credit repair system was not written by an industry insider or by some large corporation, it was written by an average everyday guy named Chris Brisson. During his journey and attempt at repairing his own credit Chris recorded everything he learned along the way.

What Does The Course Cover

He put all of this information into an 80 page 7 chapter E-course called 37 days to clean credit. And this system literally will take you step by step through the entire process of cleaning up a terrible credit report. The nice thing about this system is that it is written in a very easy to read manner and the Book is full of screen shots and illustrations to help you see what the author is trying to relate to you.

What Does The Book Cover

The book included with 37 days to clean credit covers everything from ordering a credit report all the way to disputing negative items on your credit report. Of course everything along the way is also covered like how to negotiate with your current creditors and how to add good credit accounts to your report even if you have bad credit right now. Besides just being an informative book there are also bonus products that are included with your purchase of the course. These bonuses include the following.

Included Bonus Products

Account Dispute Letter Templates Videos That Show You How To Reduce Your Debt Information on How To Budget Money Worksheets and Forms To Help You Stick To a Budget Interviews With Credit Industry Experts
But Will It Work For Me

Like any self help program the information contained in this DIY credit repair course is only going to work if you put the effort into it.The strategies and information provided are straight forward and nothing in the book is secret or earth shattering but it does put all the information you need into one easy to reference package. It is also very affordable at only $37 and your money can be made back very easily once you start to get lower interest rates on your loans do to your higher credit scores.

Earl

Michael Saunders asked:

Regarding the ability to fix bad credit, consumers have a very important right found in The Fair Debt Practices Act. Namely, consumers have the right to have a collection account validated.

Outlined in the FDCPA, there is a process known as validation and it is significantly different from the common process of verification. Verification simply centers on the credit bureau asking a creditor to verify information present on a persons account. This is a very cursory process that can be dealt with in a rather short amount of time. The creditor will simply review records and then provide it to the agency. The agency will then decide whether or not the creditor has provided accurate information.

When a collection agency is asked to validate a debt, by contrast, the process can get pretty involved. The collector must prove that the debt is your responsibility, and also that they have the legal right to collect it from you. Furthermore, the collector has to cease all collection activity until they provide this evidence to you. If the agency can’t validate the debt, it must end its attempts to collect on the debt and stop reporting the collections account to the credit bureaus.

Note that your right to validation applies specifically to collection agencies, not to the original creditor. Collection agency records are presumed to be less reliable than those kept by the original creditors. Collectors are often guilty of going after the wrong people or misstating the amounts owed; the validation process is meant to protect consumers from those practices.

To validate a debt, the collector needs to present documentation – obtained from the original creditor – proving that you do indeed owe the money. Validation can be a powerful weapon in your fight to clean up collection actions on your credit report. Many times collectors don’t have the documentation required, especially if the debt has been passed around from one collection agency to another, as often happens. Frequently, they have little more than a computer printout to back up their claims, and the Federal Trade Commission has made it clear that such a “mere itemization” isn’t sufficient proof to constitute a validation of a debt.

The validation process can not only help you eliminate collection accounts that don’t belong to you, but it might help you get rid of some that actually do. That last statement might surprise you, particularly if you’ve heard the credit bureau company line that you can’t legally remove true, negative information from your credit report.

In rare instances, it is possible to use the validation process as a means of removing accurate information from your credit report. This is mostly the case with old collections information. Some may say this is not a fair method but it is a legitimate one. Basically, you request validation on an old debt and if the debtor cannot provide the needed information, then it may be removed due to lack of validation. Again, this is only successfully achieved in rare instances but it can be done.

Brenda

gabriel i asked:

I am 30 years old and I have bad credit for many different reasons. I would list my excuses but it does not matter. I really want t to fix my credit. I have like 4 good accounts and the rest (12-15 accounts) are bad. They are all in collections and I have already talked to a person who specializes in fixing credit. I want to avoid paying them so much money to fix my credit. My mother may help me fix my credit by fronting half of the money. I will be paying off my truck later this year and have around 400+ dollars a month. What are some ways that I can contact the credit collectionns myself and making arrnangents? I can print my credit report and do this myself if needed? any advice?

Mathew

Janet Brooks asked:

When you need financing and can’t get it because of a Bad Credit Report, or No Credit or worse, Really Ugly Credit; 24hr Credit Repair is just a click of the mouse away.

But before your consider how to repair your credit, it is important to know what type of repair is right for you. When you are trying to find a way to Legal FICO Score Credit Repair there are basically 2 options. 1.) You Can Hire a Company or 2.) You Can Get Your Hands on the Right Information and Do it Yourself. In fact, the FTC even says that “Everything a credit repair clinic can do for you legally you can do for yourself at little or no cost.”

Sure, that statement seems simple enough, but Credit Repair is a big business and quite frankly, “Do it Yourself” isn’t for everyone. But in the case of fixing credit, using a cookie cutter approach that some of these “Drive Thru” places use, might not be the best solution for you. After all, we are talking about YOUR Credit here and no one makes your best interests a Priority the way you do.

Here are some things to consider when you Hire a Company to Repair your bad credit report;

Reputation. If at all possible, word of mouth from someone you trust is best. If you can not get that type of referral, then ask for testimonials from actual people that are willing to talk to you. This is imperative. This also boils down to personal attention. If you are one of thousands, will your credit situation be treated like everyone Else’s? That is not good. Credit profiles are just as unique as the individual who owns them. And worse, if your creditors get the same ‘ol correspondence regurgitated into “form” letters that most of these companies use, you might be delaying resolutions to your credit problem or possibly making it worse. Most Credit Repair Companies will ask you to sign a Contract. This is to protect them so that they can collect their fees and make certain that you understand the scope of their service and exactly what they will GUARANTEE that they can do, and what they can not. You should not have to hire an attorney to review this document either. It should be easy to understand and you should feel confident about signing it. In other words it should benefit and protect your interests too. Up front Fees and Monthly Fees are outlined. These types of fees usually range from $49 to $99. At first this can be appealing, but when you add up your monthly fees and realize that those funds could go to “paying down your debt” if that is your problem, then this is also something to consider. Additionally, if these companies make their money from Monthly Fees, what type of incentives do they have to provide “Fast” Credit Report Repair? Never buy into the MYTH that Time is the only thing that will fix a bad credit report.

The TRUTH about Legal FICO Score Credit Repair is this; when you understand how the CREDIT SYSTEM by getting your hands on Insider Information, you can fix your credit yourself and not only save tons of money, but you can start anytime of the day with Online 24hr Credit Repair.

Mary
