Local Auto Repair Shops Make a Difference With Toys For Tots

The five participating repair shopped included Eastside Auto Service in Oakville, Fourth Line Automotive in Oakville, Mark’s Auto Service in Oakville, Sil’s Complete Auto Care Center in Mississauga and Stop N Go Automotive Centre in Burlington. These shops all perform complete vehicle repair and maintenance. They all sell tires and wheels as well. Each one of these participating facilities donated $ 500.00 in cash along with the toys and exhibited collected for Toys For Tots.
The five shopped also raised money to purchase toys by allowing their customers to donate their Automotive Rewards Dollars towards the purchase of toys and gifts for the campaign. Rewards Dollars are credit that customers earn for repair and service performed at each shop. Customers can redeem their Rewards Dollars toward future service and repairs at that shop. During the Toys for Tots Campaign, customers had the option to donate their Rewards Dollars towards the purchase of toys for underprivileged children. Over $ 1877.00 in Rewards Dollars was donated to Toys For Tots.
Toys for Tots’ initial objective, which remains the hallmark of the program today, is to ‘bring the joy of Christmas to needy children.’ Its goal is to deliver a message of trust that will build self-esteem and incite children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
In total, $ 3,927.00 along with toys and presents were donated by these five repair facilities and their customers to Toys For Tots during the 2011 holiday season.
